What is Your Sign?

by John Thomas

With a new sign out in front of our building, I can't help but think of all the messages that will go up on that sign. There will be invitations, announcements, notices, scripture, encouragement, instruction, things comical, things, serious sayings that bring new thought, expressions of compassion, words of wisdom, and there may even be things on there that we don't understand from time to time!
Our life is much like that sign. When people pass by us, what do they read? Go they see words of compassion, encouragement, wisdom, etc. Will they get an invitation from you (to go to church)?
Does your sign have a light in it so that people can see it in a world of darkness? Matthew 5:13-16.
Are you plugged in to the power that makes that light run? Hebrews 4:12
Do youe have anything to say worth hearing? 2 Timothy 2:15-16
Are you speaking TRUTH or just saying what men want you to say? Mark 7:7
Our life is our sign and by it we will be read by the world around us. It is very important that:
1. We have something worthwhile to say,
2. That we say things in an encouraging manner.
3. We never look down on others because we think of ourselves as holy.
4. People will read your sign.
5. If you don't want someone reading error into what your sign really is trying to say, then you better make sure you take'care about the words you choose to use.
Matthew 7:20
What kind of fruit do you bear?
