Safety

by John Thomas

How much time and money has been spent on SAFETY? Safety is one of the biggest issues in almost every business. There are classes and seminars. There are daily, weekly, and monthly meetings at most companies in regard to safety. Many people have lost their life because they didn't use their safety equipment correctly, or maybe there was no equipment used at all. Possibly the "safety" equipment failed in some way. We would think that the more hazardous the job, the more that safety devices should be used. It wouldn't matter how much it costs us, if we thought we might lose our life, we would probably do our best to get the safety equipment. Before we put our life on the line, we would double check every item and make sure everything works before "going out on a limb". Is everything snapped, locked, and in proper position? Are there any obstructions? Can the rigging hold the weight? Is your lack up device strong enough in case of an emergency? Are your safety chains long enough to keep trom linding? Short enough to keep from dragging? Is everything well maintained...oiled, lubed and ready to go?
Or is there a chance, even the slightest chance that something may be dry-rotted? Is it worth the risk? Are you even concerned, or do you just do it and see what happens?
How do you live your life? Hap-hazzardly? Just do it and see what happens? Or, do you have a plan? 10 you have a back up plan in case the first one fails? Do you have your safety equipment for life on? Do you even have any? What is your safety chain? Are you getting to know your equipment? Would you trust it in an EMERGENCY? Are you dragging...or too tight? Are you afraid it will cost you too much?
How careless we are sometimes with our spiritual lives. We are so wrapped up in our physical well being, that we forget about checking the safety lines in our spiritual lives. And if you're worried about the sacrifice it will cost you here on earth, you must not realize the reality of Danger. Weare usually most ncemed about safety after an accident, but in the spiritual realm, you've just got one shot to be careful. Spiritual Safety is no accident, you must plan for it!
God's safety equipment NEVER fails! We just need to know how to use it. Then wear it.
