Doughuts and Vitamins

This morning I woke up and did my little routine, finally making my way to the kitchen for a little bite of breakfast. I microwaved two doughnuts and hurried them down with a glass of milk. The next thing I did was reach for my multivitamins, calcium, vitamin "C", and vitamin "E". As I started opening those little pearls of health, I realized what I had just done. I had asked my body to filter out all those fat grams and "bad stuff' that I had just fed it; and by taking my vitamins, I could expect that I would be healthy!
Many times we take for granted our spiritual health as well. We feed it junk day in and day out, but expect that since we go to
church and take our spiritual vitamins that we will be healthy! It is not enough to take in what's good for us. We must also take care to avoid those things which are bad for us.
Luke 16:13 "No servant can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon."
Romans 6:8 "Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him,".. .(v.9).
If we are to be spiritually fit, we must lose the old habits of sin. We must "die" to our wants and desires and fill ourselves with life from God. You can't be fit and fat at the same time! No man can serve two masters. It's either one or the other...
