Just as Adam was created, so are we. We were given physical life, breathed into us by God. We are obligated to God to use that life because He created it. We are given a spiritual life as well. It too creates an obligation to God. We shouldn't serve God out of "duty", but rather out oflove for Him; but...we do have a commitment to fulfill.
Our society lies to us all the time about responsibility and commitment. Our society tells us to get "one up" when we have the opportunity and that you're crazy if you don't. Our society tells us to get "off the hook" when we can, and even applauds when we do! It even goes as far as saying we have right after right to defend ourselves even when we don't need defending! Our society tells us to get away from personal responsibility and to rely on others liability! It is a sad commentary on our society!
What is our personal responsibility to God? To give Him our All! We should give our best physically, mentally, and spiritually! Romans 7:14- 25 tells about the struggles between the Carnal and Spiritual nature of man. We find ourselves doing things that don't please God, but that is not a reason to give up or excuse it because the rest of the world is
doing it. It is instead a reminder that we are in a struggle and we owe it to
God not to give up! Remember the things you've been through and remember how God got you through it. Remember the times you tried to handle it without God, how tough of a time it was. God created us and knows our spirit. He created it in us. Let us give it back to Him in love and in commitment to Him.
Romans 8:1-11 Our sins are forgiven and we have "New Life" in Christ. Romans 8:12-17 Choose to walk in fleshly ways, we die. Walking after the spirit, we become heirs of God. Romans 8: 18 Bear through the mud to get to the feeding trough!
Remember Romans 8:28 NKJV "And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose."
