Golden Rule

...Do Unto Others as you would have them do unto you

by John Thomas

1) How would you have people treat you? (With love... 1 Corinthians 13) Kindly - respectful with your time - honestly (upfront and straightforward) - thoughtfully - unselfishly - you want guidelines and forgiveness. Guess what you have to do to get these things...give them!

2) How do you get someone to treat you kindly?
a) Being patient with those who don't treat you very kindly at first.
(Realize we can all have a bad day, but there is still a lot of good in us). Your patience could buy you a good, life-long friend!
b) Going out of your way [ Matthew 5:41] (overboard) to give them the things you want out of a friendship. (Kindness-respect- honesty thoughtfulness-unselfishness-guidelines- forgi veness).
c) Share something good with them. (A word - time - food - the Gospel). Luke 6:38 Something good - pressed down, overflowing. All that you can squeeze in the sack. Don't hold back!
d) Don't expect anything in return! Luke 6:34

3) For the Golden rule to work in your life:
a) Be confident that God wins over evil!
b) Practice kindness... ( you'll get better and better at it!)
c) Dream of inventive ways to be kind... and take advantage of
every opportunity!

One Warning: Do not do good to be seen of men!
Matthew 6:1 says: " Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in Heaven,"
Matthew 5:48 says: " Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father in Heaven is perfect."
Luke 6:31 says: " And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise."
