"Welcome hither..."
by John Parker In Shakespeare's The Winter's Tale, King Leontes receives a visit from the son of his best friend, from whom he has been separated for years. In joy of seeing the young man he says to him Welcome hither, As is the spring to the earth. Spring will be coming to us soon and will be welcome to all of us. And like Leontes, we welcome as well those we love. The early church also demonstrated that welcoming spirit. Acts 2:46:
"So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart," Visitors to our services are always most welcome. Let's do what we can to invite people to worship with us, especially as we being our new auditorium study of Essentials of Christianity on Sunday mornings and our study of Jesus' parables on Sunday evenings. These will be especially suited for those who may not know about the church of Christ or who are looking for a place to attend services.
