"I was cast upon You from birth. From My mother's womb You have been My God" ( Psalm 22:10, NKJV).
January 22, 1973. Now, almost 22 years ago to the day, abortion on demand has been legal in America. The Roe vs. Wade decision struck down state laws restricting abortion.
Nearly 22 years and 30 million abortions later, some 4200 children are slaughtered daily. It's as if the entire city of Scottsville, Kentucky, where we lived before moving here, is wiped out daily.
Few people have gotten the message that this is a Civil Rights issue. Children are being discriminated against because of: (1) age (prior to nine months); (2) place of residence (mother's womb). Many of the same voices that have decried racial discrimination through the years have turned a deaf ear to the silent scream of dying children.
No, abortion clinic bombings and acts of fanaticism are not the answer. We Christians must overcome evil with good ( Romans 12:19-21). We must let our voice be heard! We must stand-up for the unborn!
Common smoke screens have been effectively used by the abortion industry. Rape and incest are the two major ones. Yet, such certified cases are very rare. The vast majority of abortions are merely a matter of convenience.
The Bible clearly and articulately stands on the side of life! Abortion is sinful and wrong because:
1. God recognizes us as life even from the womb! (Gen. 25:23; Judges 13:5; 7; Psalm 139:13).
2. The deliberate killng of the child in the womb is murder. The guilty parties were to be executed (Ex. 21:22-25).
3. The deliberate killing of numan life, without provocation or just cause is murder (Deut. 5:17; Romans 13:9).
4. it demonstrates the loss of natural affection ( Romans 1:31).
5. it puts human life in terms of quality or utility or rather than sacredness due to the divine nature giving human life (Gen. 1:27; Matthew 16:26; Lev. 19:14).
22 years is long enough! It's far too long! Lift up your voice for the babies. "A voice was heard in Ramah..." ( Matthew 3:18; Jer. 31:15).
