It Could Happen to Us!by Steve Hale "Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness sake, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they who were persecuted the prophets before you" ( Matthew 5:10-12, NKJV).
June 25, 1962 -- Engel vs. Vitale. This is the date school prayer is banned from public schools. The court sites no legal, historic, or moral precedents. The court even admitted that 97% of the population believed in God and the Bible, but that the 97% would have to do its business as the 3% wished. Up to this time, prayer had been legal in our public schools for 186 consecutive years! June 17, 1963 -- Abington vs. Schempf. The court bans Bible reading in the public schools. Again, the court cannot site any legal, historic, or moral precedent. The court explained that the reading and study of the Bible could give psychological damage to a child! January 22, 1973 -- Roe vs. Wade. The United States Supreme Court struck down state laws restricting abortion. Children can now be destroyed through the ninth month in the womb. Floodgates open as millions of unborn children are killed. Estimates of this slaughter have reached 40 million since January 22, 1973. This is a Civil Rights Issue...children are being discriminated. against because of age and place of residence ( Proverbs 6:16-19)! This list could have been made much longer...what's next?
