Changing the World!
by David Shannon
Two Officers Served Unto Death
Officers Jerry Mundy and John Musice were tragically killed last week by a young woman driving a stolen car from Knox County. They courageously gave their life in service to protect our lives, families, and community. The reports say the woman driving the car has had a problematic life since childhood. Her family life was less than desirable. Her lack of remorse at this time creates even more pain.
Could We Do More?
Recently, a group has been discussing ways the MJ church of Christ can serve their Lord over the next two decades. One of the areas discussed was the need of many youth to have a Christian home and/or a Christian influence.
What if someone had converted this woman's parents to Jesus Christ when she was a baby, how different would things be today? What if someone had given time, energy, and heart to this troubled teenager, serving as a mentor to her when she first showed signs of drug abuse and violence?
What if someone could have converted her to Jesus, who teaches, "let him who stole steal no more," think how different things would be?
Destroying Wickedness by Changing One Life at a Time!
When we change the life of a youth--we change the world! We have seen in this little town of MJ how one delinquent young woman can pass through and change lives forever! Let's learn valuable lessons from the power of one life and invest in our youth-- especially the ones who seemed troubled! Let's continue to pray fervently for family, co-workers, and friends of the fallen. Let's also pray for wisdom, courage, and stamina to involve our lives with the youth-- this is a rich investment that changes the world!
When it goes well with the righteous, the city rejoices;
And when the wicked perish, there is jubilation.
By the blessing of the upright the city is exalted,
But it is overthrown by the mouth of the wicked. Proverbs 11:10-11
