Sister A and Sister B are talking after Sunday morning worship. Sister A says to Sister B, "Did you notice how the preacher winked at me when I walked by?" Sister B replies, "Yes, I certainly did. We are going to have to keep an eye on that young man, maybe even warn the elders about him. Why, if his morals are so low as to go around winkin' at old women, there's no tellin' what he might do to the younger women of the congregation."
Up walks the preacher and speaks to Sister B. "Sister B," he says, "would you mind looking in my eye? I think a gnat flew in it a while ago when you and Sister A walked by, and I sure would appreciate it if you would help me get it out." Sister A and Sister B send each other a shameful glance. Then Sister B looks at the preacher and says, "Sure, honey, anything for my favorite preacher."
Godly love does not judge another's words or actions as evil or think the worst of someone without adequate evidence. Let's provoke one another to love and good deeds.
