Two little boys were overheard arguing. One little boy said, "My dad is better than your dad, 'cause he's smarter". The other little boy said, "Well, my dad is better than your dad, 'cause he's stronger". And, so they continued, back and forth, comparing their dad's, arguing who was better. Children often associate their self-worth tq their parents and will often compare their parents to other parents as a way of determining just how "good" they are.
Have you ever felt like you were less of a Christian because you weren't doing what other Christians were able to do? Have you ever felt like you were a "good" Christian or "better" Christian because you didn't have the weaknesses or struggles other Christians have? If you answered yes to either of these you have sinned. If you are still doing either of these you are sinning and need to repent.
Christians shouldn't compare! We shouldn't judge our self-worth or righteousness on how we compare to others. Neither should we judge the worth or righteousness of others compared to ourselves.
Paul strongly warned the Galatians Christians about this: "Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness: considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted. Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself. But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he 'have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another. For ever man shall bear rhis own burden" ( Galatians 6:1-5).
Notice the reason we shouldn't compare - - "For every man shall bear his own burden" (v. 5). God is going to judge us by us. He is not going to judge us by what others think, believe or do (Cf. 1 Corinthians 3:8; Romans 2:6; 2 Corinthians 5:10). Our righteousness or unrighteousness is not determined by what others think of us or how we compare to others. It is only what.
God thinks of us that really matters!
Don't play childish games with you Christianity. Judge your relationship with God by God's word. Don't compare
