Go Home to your friends and tell them the great things the Lord has done for you. This man had a legion of unclean spirits living within him. He lived as a mad man among the tombs. He could break chains and fetters and would cry out, cutting himself with rocks. Jesus healed him by casting the spirits into some nearby swine. For the first time in a long time the man was sitting clothed and in his right mind. Can you imagine how blessed this man was at that moment? Can you imagine the gratitude he wanted to offer to Jesus? He probably would have done about anything for Jesus. As Jesus was leaving he asked to board the boat with Him. Instead Jesus says � However, Jesus did not permit him, but said to him, �Go home to your friends, and tell them what great things the Lord has done for you, and how He has had compassion on you" Mark 5:19.
It is still happening today. When Christians remember all the Lord has done for them, they naturally tell others. In the last few days Doug Ferguson, a frequent visitor at MJ, studied with his friend Jessa. About 10:30 one Sunday night she was baptized into Her Savior. Last Wednesday night following services, Jessica Toombs was baptized into Christ. She was encouraged to come to worship, to study the scriptures, and live for Her Lord by her friend Chris Malone, who was baptized last year. Lex Conaster has prayed for one of his childhood friends everyday for over two years. He confesses he remembers forgetting to pray for him one day last year. This week, without any contact from Lex, Tim Hardin called him and asked him if he would baptism him.
Remember the statement earlier, when Christians remember all that the Lord has done for them, they naturally tell others. Let�s all remember today and hear the words as if Jesus said them directly to us� �go home to your friends and tell them what great things the Lord has done for you.� Let�s pray, invite, and pray again for the lost
