The Meaning of Life
by Tony Huddleston

Throughout the centuries men have sought for the meaning and purpose of life. Is there a purpose? We cannot find the answer in the writings of men, although there have been numerous attempts. Each person is given a small interval of time on this planet. Are we here merely to survive or is there something more?
The secular world provides no satisfactory answer. Human beings, we are told, are simply the product of billions of years of evolution. Although this idea can and has been refuted, think about how this concept, believed by so many, offers no meaning, no hope, and no purpose to life.
The answer of course to what life is all about is God. There is a God who not only created the universe, but found it fitting to reveal Himself to mankind through His sacred writings.
No man has the intelligence to discover the meaning of life for himself, but God has revealed the answers. Here is a small sample from the words of God and His Son Jesus Christ:
Origin of Life - And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. Genesis 2:7
Purpose of Life - Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name: bring an offering, and come before him: worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness. 1 Chronicles 16:29
Hope of Life - In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. John 14:2
In the book of Ecclesiastes, Solomon eloquently shows how life without God is vanity. He sought for purpose the way the world seeks it and came up empty. He concludes with the declaration, Fear God, and keep his commandments for this is the whole duty of man. Ecclesiastes 12:13.
