Looking Forward
by David Fleming

Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Therefore let us, as many as are mature, have this mind; and if in anything you think otherwise, God will reveal even this to you. Nevertheless, to the degree that we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us be of the same mind. (The Apostle Paul, Philippians 3:13-16.)
Paul believed in looking forward, the past is gone. We, like Paul, need to be of one mind in putting the events of the past behind us. In this new year of 2007, let us determine to walk more closely to Gods word and will, being more determined to withdraw ourselves from the cares and troubles of this world that would be a snare to us and our loved ones. Let us be more faithful students to His word, more effective as servants in His kingdom. Let us be more careful to think before we speak or act, being considerate of others. Let us expect more of self than others. Let us look forward happily and not grudgingly to our service to God in 2007 and be the Christians we should be. Let us be able to say, I have kept the Faith.in 2007.
