With Everything Going...

Summer is a busy time for us all. Families are going on summer vacations, teens are working summer jobs, and young families are spending endless nights at ballparks. In the past four weeks, the church has been involved with Mission Campaigns, Vacation Bible School, Summer Camp, and other events. It can be hard simply keeping up with all the activities!!

With everything going on, it is easy to let some things go. I want to encourage you to not let your daily Bible reading go by the wayside. We need food to nourish our bodies that allows us to be able to handle all the physical activities; but more importantly, we need to be reading our Bible to get the nourishment that truly counts...Man does not live by bread alone...

Ok, you are saying, "With everything going on, how can I add something else?" Let me throw this out. There are 31 chapters in the book of Proverbs and there are typically 31 days per month. So to make this easy, whatever the day of the month, read the same chapter in Proverbs. Today is June 27, so read Proverbs chapter 27. Let me also encourage those who do not have a daily reading schedule - NOW is a great time to start. The year is half over so let's all commit to reading all the way through the New Testament by the end of the year.

I hear you, "I am so busy, how do you expect me to promise to read the Bible everyday? Things are going to come up. I have a family vacation planned. How can I do it?"

The answer is easy: One day at a time.
