Eddie

Six months ago Berek brought home a skinny, flea bitten mutt that had been thrown out on the side of the highway. Well, Eddie was to be adopted out but somehow has remained part of the family. Eddie is still a puppy and bites everything. He has chewed on a chair in the living room; he has chewed on our steps to the house as well as the steps going to the playroom. He has chewed up 2 pairs of my reading glasses and the phone antennae. I have been so mad at him after his little episodes I was ready to send him to the shelter. I came in the other night and found one of my shoes with teeth marks. It was time for a hard lesson for Eddie.

Later that night as all the other times, Eddie came and got in my lap and I petted his head and hugged him as a dear child. Eddie was at peace again. The afternoon now forgotten. don't look at me; I know each of you have given in to a dear pets timid approach.

As I was sitting this morning thinking of life it came to me that Jesus has done the same thing for me. On the cross after having been beaten, ridiculed, and whipped Jesus looked down on the people, as he looks down on me in my sin, and said Father forgive them for they know not what they do Luke 23:34.

He has taken me in his arms, patted my head and given me peace. John 14:27
