Christ Living In Us

Galatians 2:20

by Tony Huddleston

Tony Huddleston

Here is a thought, though not original, worth considering. If I were on trial for being a Christian, would there be enough evidence to convict me?

To be a Christian means more than attending worship services, although that is important. Consider
Gal 2:20. "I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me;

When a Christian leaves the church building and goes out into the world, Christ goes with him. If our friends and co-workers can see no difference in us and the rest of the world, we have failed in our Christian walk. Consider I John 2:6 He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.

1) Does our speech show Christ living in us, or do we talk as worldly people?
2) Do we dress modestly, or do we follow fashion trends indiscriminately?
3) Does our type of recreation befit a Christian, or does the world influence our entertainment?
4) Do we refrain from drugs and alcohol, or do we succumb to peer pressure and partake?
5) Do we strive for moral purity, or do we corrupt our bodies by committing sexual sin?
6) Do others see us as honest and truthful, or do they see greed and deceit in our lives?

Walking in the steps of Christ is the desire of every true Christian. This is not to imply we should pride ourselves in our own goodness. However, if Christ rules our lives, He will be brightly visible to the world through us, without our having to wave a flag or sound a trumpet.

"Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. Matthew 5:16

May we all reflect the light of the living Christ in our lives.
