My Thanksgiving List
by John Thomas
Philippians 4:8
In about a week, we will celebrate our Thanksgiving holiday. Quite simply, I will share with you the things on my list for which I am grateful.
Warm summer days (good for a ride in an old car), fall (for the beauty and texture of color), clear, winter nights (good for watching meteor showers), and springtime (for the renewal and rebirth of everything).
Hot showers - washing machines - headlights - microwaves - hairdryers - indoor plumbing - telephone - computers - heat & ac. Think how different life would be w/o these modern day conveniences, or the electricity to run them!
Grandmothers, puppies, ice cream, camp fires and guitars, marshmallows and hayrides, a really good book, a teacher for a handicapped child, Band-Aids and mommas that know how to apply them with love, new socks and shoes, a compliment from someone you admire and respect, a clean house, mowed lawns, warm fuzzies, new songs, new friends, seeing an old friend.
Meeting a goal, knowing what your spouse is thinking, babies, pictures, weddings, forgiveness, new starts, ripe old age, birth, waking in the mornings, rest for the weary, hugs and smiles. Friends who show us all things, when we can't see them for ourselves! Above all these things - John 3:16.
