Have You Seen Us?
by David Fleming
Every week theres an ad card in my mailbox. On the back there are pictures of missing family members. It may be a child and father or mother, or two children, or one with age progression after missing several years.
I look at these pictures and wonder, why? What happened? Where are they? Are they safe? What of the suffering of the family?
HAVE YOU SEEN US?
Every week as we go to church, we look around and notice someone missing. It may be a family, father, mother, grandparent, or child. Do you wonder why? What happened? Where are they? Are they safe? What of the suffering of the family?
We have a responsibility as Christians, as members of the family of God; to be concerned and show our love one to another. Yes, the elders are charged with seeing to the missing and the needs of the family of God; but, so too, are the deacons and each member of the church. We are all to be concerned for each other when it is convenient and when it is not. God will hold us all accountable.
We have a strong, loving, caring family at Mt. Juliet, but lets not neglect the needs of all the family. If you see someone missing, give them a call or a visit. Lets be sure no one leaves us for lack of love.
John 13:35 By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.
