Sometimes You Have to Silence the Crowd

When Moses sent twelve leaders from the tribes of Israel into the land of Canaan in Numbers 13, they were to find out if the land was fertile, if the people were few or many, strong or weak, and if the cities they lived in were protected or not. They wanted to know what the land which God had promised them was like before they entered it. As the men reported back to the Israelites they said in verse 27, We went into the land to which you sent us, and it does flow with milk and honey. Here is its fruit. But the people who live there are powerful, and the cities are fortified and very large
In verse 30, it says Then Caleb silenced the people before Moses and said, We should go up and take possession of the land, for we can certainly do it. Ten of the leaders who spied out the land would go about spreading a bad report among the people. But Caleb and Joshua pleaded with the people that God would give them the land. Because of their faith, Joshua and Caleb would be allowed to enter the Promised Land and the other leaders would be killed.
Whens the last time you stood up for your Faith when no one else would? What is popular is not always right; what is right is not always popular
