Home is Where you Make It

I want to take this time and article space to thank you, the Mt. Juliet congregation, for being so kind to me this summer. I appreciate the elders for allowing me to work with Phil. I have learned so much and have grown so much spiritually. I do not know if you understand the caliber of ministers you have working for you here at Mt. Juliet. I have never worked in an office like this one before. This has been my fourth internship and in the previous three I have never seen a group of ministers work so closely or be such good friends. I think that David has been in my office as much as his own this summer. It is great to see a church where the ministerial staff works so well together. I want to begin by my shout out section by thanking the man who had the dream that brought me here. A long time ago at a summer camp an hour and a half away Phil looked at me and said where are you working next summer, and so it began. Phil has been a mentor and a friend of mine for over ten years now. I want to thank Andrew for his constant smile and endless supply of class supplies and resources that I am not sure he knows I borrowed. I want to thank David for his defensive driving training, his wifes cooking, and his hour long conversations about his next big plan. Which brings me to Marie. Marie has been the better half of this summer, but I am sure you all already knew that. She has been so key in everything we have done this summer. I have never worked with another intern and she made it so easy and fun. Who could forget the two sweetest secretaries in the world. Thank you Mrs. Pat and Mrs. Carole for your smiles, jokes, and being so patient with the new guy. You are very blessed to have an office staff like you have here and I have learned so much from all of them. This summer has been an amazing ride. You have all truly made me feel a part of this fine congregation. Now to the youth group. All of you have been amazing to work with. When you look at our youth group it is hard not to smile because you know this congregation has a very bright future. I now understand the saying, home is where you make it. This summer it has been a great privilege to make my home Mt. Juliet TN.
