David Howard passed away Friday, July 1, 2005. David grew up in Florence, AL and is survived by his mother, Helen Pollard and preceded in death by his father, Robert. David grew up in the Lord�s church. As a young man he joined the U.S. Air Force eventually being promoted to Master Sergeant. We are indebted to his years of service rendered to this country and especially for his deployment in Desert Storm. He was honored with a Bronze Star. After retirement he worked in various capacities, but was probably most proud to be able to go to college at MTSU, studying Economics. He graduated in 2001. His humility masked most of his many talents. He loved hunting, fishing, computers, music (especially playing the guitar), writing (poetry and stories), genealogy (completed second book on the Howard family), golf, and history (especially military history). David was kind and genuine. He never met a stranger, yet didn�t enjoy attention. He loved older folks and one way this was manifested was through his delivering Meals on Wheels. He was patient and positive. Even during the last few months as he battled cancer, he remained positive and focused on �getting past it.� David was serious about his relationship with God � and for this we rejoice. He will be missed. We extend our deepest sympathy to Joyce, Monica, and the rest of his family during this time.
