New Eyes

We had new sets of eyes, ears and feet with us this week as we kept 3 foster brothers. I want to thank Jeff Fortner for the week. If not for his ministry this would not have happened. I would not have held Payton when he was tired and wanted to be carried. I would not have rocked Jason to sleep at night. There is no hug better in the world than a child who abandons all inhibitions when he has his arms around your neck.

I had forgotten the amount of work it takes to get children from one place to another. Katy, as always, was an anchor holding us together.

I need to apologize for those times I thought, Id jerk that kid up or if that had been my son, Id. It is good to have your memory jogged. I know that I am not telling the current parents about the work involved with baths, getting dressed, and trying to complete a meal. Children really do need to get to bed on time or the next morning you pay a price. It brings new thoughts about the Lords word, suffer the little children.

Katy and I have a renewed appreciation for you parents out there that fight the good fight every day. The children you are raising will share the love you give them to their children, who will pass it on to their children. I am at a time in life that I can see generations of this love at Mt Juliet. You work hard for your children every day with little respite. Life is so full for you. Sometimes you may feel alone in the work. The church loves you and your children but we sometimes have trouble remembering or knowing what to do or say to help. You have to remind us. It does not diminish our appreciation for your work or our love for your children.
Children are an heritage of the Lord and the fruit of the womb is his reward Psalm 127:3.
