March 6, 2005
February 6, 2005 at Mt. Juliet we focused our subject matter on the importance of our responsibility to teach the Gospel around the world. We mentioned several who have devoted their work to fulltime mission efforts. The Willits, Brad and Estel in Guinea, West Africa, Victor Bonilla in El Salvador, Central America, and Alexander and Eleni Melirrytos in Athens, Greece are examples of such individuals. We also mentioned John and Rose Kennedy who moved to Memphis, Kevin and Stephanie Hines who were transferred to Japan, and Daniel Huddleston who has accepted a two year stint to Japan. Each of these have strongly contributed to the Lords cause where they presently live. The persecution which sent Christians out of Jerusalem in Acts 8 also spread the Gospel as the individuals took the Lord and His cause with them. I just e-mailed Captain Kelly L. Mims this morning who is beginning a year of service in Iraq. He confirms the Lords church worshipped this past Sunday with 5 Christians present. The church service is conducted on base and he adds, we are doing our best to spread Gods word within our ranks. Friends this is Christianity! Taking Jesus wherever God takes us!
Where are you now? Which friendship, address, office, school, or work place has God given you at this point in your life? These are opportunities to invite others to know the Lord. Please invite them to Bible Class Emphasis Day 2005March 6. Invite a friend, co-worker, and neighbor to join you in Bible Study! Maybe it wont end like Captain Mims service Sunday, We had a mortar alarm go off right after services, luckily it was a false alarm. Thankfully, it went off after our closing prayer, what perfect timing. Although, it did mess up our post Church hand shaking in the foyer, (we don't really have a foyer) as we were running for the bunkers.
