Kids Out of Control

Children should be under the control of their parents. God's plan for the family hierarchy is for parents to be over and to rule th ir children ( Ephesians 6:1; 1 Timothy 3:4). Following are some warning signs of children out of control.


  • Often loses temper.

  • Often argues with adults.

  • Often actively defies or refuses adult requests or rules, e.g., refuses to do chores at home.

  • Blames others for his or her mistakes.

  • Refusal to do homework, get to school on time, or even to go to school at all.

  • Association with, peer group of teenaged or older friends with a history of problems at school or wit the law.

  • Exhibiting open, hostility, hitting or shoving of family members.

  • Has been physic lly cruel to animals.

  • Often lies.

  • Refusal to partipate in family gatherings.

  • Disappearance of money, jewelry, cameras, clothing or other valuables.

  • Discovering Pills, marijuana, pipes, or "papers" in your child's drawers or room.

  • Fear of your child.

  • Being arrested for drugs, reckless driving, assault and battery, vandalism, etc.

  • Not knowing were your child goes day or night.

  • Fear that your arriage is endangered by your child's behavior.

  • Feeling ashame of your child's very existence.

  • Thinking the best thing you can do for your child is kill yourself.
