Have You Prayed for Our Country Today?
Dear Mr. Frist,
To me, to show your patriotism is to support your country. We should show our support by praying for our country. Another way to show your patriotism or support is to join the military. ...If you can't join the military, you can help by sending money, food, or clothing. You can also give blood to help '" those who have shed their blood to protect our country. We think of war as something that is t1 horrible, and it is, but we must protect our nation. ... On September 11,2001, the people of the United States of America were hurt deeply, We have to stand united and show our patriot- j ism and love for each other. ...We have the freedom to worship and speak as we want. Other countries do not have this freedom. We should never take this for granted.
...Devote your life to being a patriot of America by putting God first, your country and fellow man second, and yourself third. We should all show our patriotism not just on holidays but all year long. We say the Pledge of Allegiance and do we always think about the words we are saying?
The most simple and important thing that we can do for your country to pray for it. This form of patriotism is a pnvate way of supporting our country. We should pray for the men and women in our military. The hardest thing to do is to pray for our enemies. We should pray for our spiritual leaders and our churches to be strengthened. All Americans need to realize that we have to turn our nation back to God. If we are not loyal to our God, patriotism is worthless because God will not continue to bless this nation if we do not live as one nation, under God adn by His rules.
You can send a copy of this to President Bush if you like.
