Decisions, decisions, decisions

Decisions, decisions, decisions - Life is filled with decisions. The decisions we make bring about changes that are either positive or negative. The greatest decision we will ever make is to live the Christian life. Possibly the next greatest decision is choosing our mate. We make decisions regarding careers, buying a house, a car, investing money, etc. Young people are faced with decisions of choosing friends, how to spend their time, college, choice of studies, etc.
Decisions affect our lives in every way. It affects our character, and our relationship with God and others. No matter what, decide to do right. Matthew 6:33 says "Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness.." Jesus is saying that the greatest concern is putting our relationship with God first and everything else second.
Philippians 4: 8-9 says "Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy - think on these things. The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, THESE DO, and the God of peace will be with you." Even when no one else is doing right, you know right from wrong. Decide to do right. Be honest, take a stand for right, be true. Never let your decisions be based on the opinions of others or what is the popular thing to do. The majority is not always right.
As we are reading Acts and tasting the word, notice how the apostles and early disciples used prayer in their lives. They prayed when making a decision, when persecuted, for guidance, and for one another. Prayer is powerful and will help us make the right decisions. Knowing the word of God guides us in doing what is right. The scripture tells us the word will keep us from sin. Psalm 119:11
We should evaluate the consequences and motives for the decisions we make. Will it please God? What effect will it have on my walk with God? What effect will it have on my family and friends? Will it influence others? How?
Decisions, decisions, decisions - Let us strive to always make right decisions. Lean upon God. The decisions you make today will affect your eternal destiny.
