Who Do You Believe?
by David Shannon
1. "Soon there will be no rain" or "soon we will have no change in seasons" is always the cry by those that believe the ozone layer is depleting. If it is a hard winter or a dry summer it is due to this. One verse in God's word will convince any believer that this is NOT the truth. While speaking to Noah he said:
While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease. Genesis 8:22
2. The signs say "eat no meat" or "allow the animals to live" as animal activist protest the eating of meat or the wearing of hides and furs. The problem in Romans 1 where homosexuality was rampant began when man worshipped the creature more than the creator (vr 25)! Today don't be fooled for a moment as to whether or not we should wear hides or furs or eat meat. The second change of clothes ever worn by man was as follows:
Unto Adam also and to his wife did the Lord God make coats of skins, and clothed them. Genesis 3:21
The skin may have had the fur upon it or not, but the animal's life was taken just the same. And later God explained that as His plan:
Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things. Genesis 9:3
God's plan is for animal to be for man's use, what is your plan?
3. "Mercy Killing" or "taking the sting out of death" or "abortions": these terms describe the reasoning of many today who refer to some murders or suicides as compassionate and even heroic actions. Since the elderly person is in pain and the ailments are fatal the aid is given to kill them to avoid further pain. The child in the womb has not seen the light of day and has not given anything to society. God gave the reason that every life is valuable:
Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made He man. Genesis 9:6
Man should not be murdered because man is made in the likeness of God. It has nothing to do with quality of life, but the design of man! Who do you believe; God or man?
Let us always look to the Bible for God's wisdom and instruction! The Bible is Rich in Truth!
