Ruby Pearl Foster passed away on September 30, 2007. Ruby Pearl began attending the Mt. Juliet church of Christ at the early age of six years old when she moved with her family from Beckwith to Mt. Juliet. She was a member here for sixty-five years. She faithfully attended worship and the Ladies Bible class until her health prevented it. She truly loved the church at Mt. Juliet.
Ruby Pearl was a graduate of Mt. Juliet High School. She married Grills Foster in 1937 and they were married for sixty-one years until his death in 1998. They built their home on Mt. Juliet Road in 1947. It was there that she and Grills raised their two sons, Ron and Ralph. Ruby Pearl was a good homemaker and mother. She remained at her home until she had to enter the Mt. Juliet Health Care.
Ruby Pearl struggled with health problems for many years but she kept up with her church family and the community news. She knew about most things that took place around her and in the community. Her mind stayed sharp until the end. And one of the sweetest things about her was that, as sick as she was, she was always concerned about others who weren’t feeling well or having health problems. She always asked how someone else was doing. Of course her main concern was the health of her two sons. She loved them very much and recently, they have been in very poor health.
Ruby Pearl loved the Lord and she was a child of God for many years. She was the last surviving member of a large family of eight brothers and two sisters. Now, we pray she is at home with God and we can be assured that “…Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on. Yes, says the Spirit, that they may rest from their labors, and their works follow them” ( Revelation 14:3).
